Scrapbooking Layout Love You with Elle's Studio

Hi! It's Jody from Floppy Eared Farm.  I have a new layout to share. I used to the XOXO and Sunny Days collection from Elle's Studio.  They had a great after Thanksgiving sale I could not say no to!

I first found the color scheme I wanted to use with the picture.  The picture was taken during Fall Break, but the leaves were not changing yet so I did not want to use a Fall collection. I loved the colors I did pick. I punched some hearts out and thought nice rows would work. I then added some inks to make my background messy. I used Peacock Feathers, Faded Jeans, and Mermaid Lagoon in distress oxide inks. I also brought in some thread. Nothing special about the thread just different colors that matched. I made little nests for words sit on.

I finished it off with puffy hearts and a few labels sticking out from the picture to give it a few more layers.  I loved how it can out. Thank you for stopping by.
Print those pictures and get crafty!

I also created a short process video to accompany this blog. Check it out below.

Christmas Gift Tag

Hi, it's Jody. Are you ready for the holidays? I am definitely NOT! I did take a little time to make some Christmas gift tags. I love all the non-traditional colors that are being used this year. I have a short process video of how these little guys came together, please go to https://youtu.be/Ji81IotpGKU.

First, I started with a beautiful watercolor page from Jane Davenport's paper pad. I found a cute Christmas tree stencil from Echo Park Paper Co. in my stash. I grabbed some texture paste and Glimmer Mist in Pearl and Cherry Limeade. I made 2 piles of paste, one with the Pearl and the other with the Cherry Limeade color.

After I mixed each one I spread the paste onto the stencil and paper one at a time. My trees turned out so sparkly and pretty. I let it dry for a few minutes, It did not take too long. Then I used my 2 3/4 inch circle punch to punch out the circle shapes.  I used a paper hole punch to make the hole on top of the circles and used scrap ribbon to tie on top.

Lastly, I searched through my wood veneer stash and found some adorable Christmas shapes to glue in the center of the circles.

I think they turned out super cute! I hope you got some inspiration to go get crafting!

Scrapbooking Layout Nov. 2018 Hip Kit Club

Hi, it's Jody. I have a new layout to share.  I used the Hip Kit Club Main Kit from November 2018.

This kit is full of beautiful colors and so many exclusives! If you would like to check out my process video for it please go to https://youtu.be/MElKI6ZsB50.

First, I took a page from Heidi Swapp's Emerson Lane and cut all the navy stripes out. I liked how it anchors to the bottom of the page. I took a few pages from Jen Hadfield's Along the Way to mat the picture and add another layer to the back of the picture.

Next, I added splatters of Shimmerz Paints in Oakie Bear Blue and Lapis Dance.  I went to blot the page and smeared color all over. So, I end up just smushing more color down than my original plan, which of course is fine!

Then, I started to lay down all the pretty acetate leaves including the wreath under my picture. These were one of the exclusives. You can only get these pretty pieces from Hip Kit Club! More exclusives are the beautiful gold foil wood veneers.  I used the camera, 2 leaves, and the word "remember" as part of my title.  I used 2 small stickers from Heidi Swapp's Emerson Lanes sticker sheet and fussy cut the word "Today" out to finish my title.

Below is the entire Main Kit. I hope I gave you a little inspiration to go crafting!

Scrapbooking Sweet Summer

Hey there, it's Jody here at Floppy Eared Farm.  I have a fun and colorful scrapbook layout to share.

First, I looked through my photos. Of course these two with ice cream were too adorable to pass up. Then I remembered the free cut file from Paper Issues and knew these would be perfect. I also grabbed the new July 2018 Hip Kit Club main and embellishment kits.  They are filled with exclusive products and the colors are beautiful.

As long as I can remember I always back my photos.  I think a nice soft color frame is a great first step to get the page rolling. I ended up using some of the packaging from the exculsive products as a frame.

I played around with the pictures and cut files, then decided a grid-ish layout will do.

I grabbed the amazing Distress oxides in 4 colors and applied the ink in four sections using the packaging technique. So easy, ink some packaging, spritz with water, then pat the packaging on to the paper.

I added one more frame around the pictures using one of the exclusive papers. I also used foam sheets to add dimension to my pictures. For a large area like the photo, the foam sheets give great coverage, so affordable and one side already has adhesive on it!

I felt like the right side of the page had too much white. So I tore some of the white card stock off and backed the area with a coordinating paper. I love a good ruffled up edge so I put my handy distresser tool to work.

I added embellishments, some tread, a piece of washi tape, and used an adorable exclusive acrylic word and alphas for my title.

To wrap it up, I added the date in blue ink and highlighted around the tops of the ice creams so they would be more recognizable. I love how it came out. I think scrapbooking in chronological order makes the most sense. But, they are your memories scrap them however you would like! Just get them off your camera and phone!

Thank you for stopping by.
